About Me:


I have always had an interest in writing, some of my earliest memories are of the stories I used to make up & tell either to myself or to my Parents & Grandparents.  Most of the time I have kept the things I have written to myself, mostly out of a lack of motivation or inclination to share them.

Lately though, I have been feeling the need to improve, so I have set myself a series of challenges just to see what happens.  So I dipped my toe in the water by writing a few short pieces & shared some of them with friends.  

Embarrassingly a few people seemed to enjoy them, so the next step was to create a space where they can be accessed more easily.

All of the opinions in these Blogs are entirely my own & are not linked with any organisation I am currently  associated with or have worked with in the past.
It is also not my intention to be rude or contentious, but if you are offended by anything I write then I apologise in advance.

I was Born in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire and raised in Oswestry, Shropshire, by Welsh parents.  I have lived in Gorleston-On-Sea, Norfolk for over 25 years. 

These pages represent the themes & thoughts that were in my head at that point in time.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

Ok so having been told off by my Mother for two Blogs in a row, I thought I should move to safer ground in subject terms. Today’s item is a Collage that is currently hanging in my Living Room. It's called "A Few Good Nights" It is literally the product of the time a few years ago, when my house for a while became the place where my friends would congregate. Mostly because a few of us had kids of a similar age & consequently had little time or money to go to somewhere as exotic as a pub very often. Adulting 4: The inherent problems of A La Carte History.

Apparently, a good tale grows with the telling; this is especially true of me with my memories.  After all I do love a good story. One of my favourites is the tale I tell, when I explain to people how I met my oldest friend.  It is a good story and it contains the kind of elements that would illicit the response I tend to be looking for.   The first walk to the new school, the nervousness of being the new kid in class, the discomfort of new school clothes, meeting my new teacher, an argument with the annoying kid in class, who quickly became my best friend.    It is a nice whimsical story, but these days, if I am honest I have no idea if its true or not. Places 7 - Playa De Salinas, Asturias, Spain:

So in episode 6 I was whining a little bit about how terrible my life as a travelling sales rep is at times. Mostly because I don't get much time to look around and smell the roses. Which you'll be surprised to hear no one had any sympathy with in any way. The truth is that while yes things are often busy in the travel department I do get to see a lot of nice places, usually quite briefly. Anyone who has been within earshot and has heard me bleating about my travels will be used to the fact that when I mentioned northern Spain I often spend quite a long time telling you how much I like the place and all of the reasons why. It has been mostly the case over the last 20-years that in a business sense I tend to go to places where there are large steelworks to sell welding related stuff to them for reasons that are entirely boring.
